Consciously Create Your Life – Conquer Your Subconscious

Beliefs Stem From Childhood

The subconscious mind is the program that creates your reality. You have the ability to create your reality through your thoughts, actions, intentions, and the beliefs embedded throughout your mind. As children, our subconscious minds operate at the forefront of our consciousness, meaning this aspect of our mind is easily programmed and begins forming strong beliefs from a young age. The upbringing of a child will either benefit or hinder them throughout their lives, depending on if the childhood was healthy or not. The subconscious does not function through "right" or "wrong" as your conscious minds do. Children aren't capable of fully comprehending traumatic or stressful situations as adults can, and the beliefs you form as a child may not be factual, but the subconscious does not know this.

For example, if you were raised to believe that you were a "difficult" child because your parents didn't have the experience or tools to properly care for you, this doesn't necessarily mean you were difficult. Your parents hold the responsibility of caring for you, and as a child, you were just acting like one. But, if you were constantly told that you were a "difficult" child, as you grow older, you will hold this belief in all of your relationships. In your friendships and romantic relationships, you may attract people that can't seem to understand or handle you. In school or work, you'll find yourself in environments that are out of alignment with you.

If you were constantly told that you were a "difficult" child, as you grow older, you will hold this belief in all of your relationships.

The Subconscious is a Mirror

The beliefs you have within your subconscious dictate how others treat you, the opportunities that are present to you, the relationships you'll have, and whether or not you'll have abundance in your life. You have free will, but only to the extent that you are able to overcome your mind and consciously choose beliefs that benefit us and align with your desires.

Your subconscious mind acts as a mirror, used to create your reality based on your beliefs. This aspect of yourself is also neutral, and it's important to remember this when working with your mind. This means that this aspect of your mind does not know what is “right” or “wrong”, and it can absorb a belief that ins't necessarily true. Knowing that the subconscious is neutral allows you to understand that it's just as easy to reprogram your mind as it is to program it. Once you've properly reprogrammed your mind, it removes the old programming and creates a new pattern of belief within it. Soon, your outer world will mimic the changes of your inner self.

Every day you impress information on your subconscious mind by your emotional reactions, your habits, and your choices. Because much of your programming was formed as a child, and this programming came from your parents, caregivers, and environments, it's likely that your mind has been repeating the same patterns. When your mind operates on patterned programming, you will feel like you are living on auto-pilot. Every day your life will be playing out the same story and the same routine. You will have the same emotional triggers, the same perspective about your life, and feel as if you're not in control of your reality.

Creating your reality starts with learning to reprogram your subconscious mind by identifying the limiting beliefs that it holds.

Reprogram Your Mind

Creating your reality starts with learning to reprogram your subconscious mind by identifying the limiting beliefs that it holds. Take a look at your life and figure out what areas you'd like to improve. For example, someone dealing with emotional triggers from a traumatic event will be continuously creating triggering experiences within their life. If they can identify the belief that's at the root of the emotional reaction, they can override it. There are a couple of ways you can do this.

Journaling

  1. Write down the specific pattern you want to overcome.

  2. List as many past experiences that relate to the pattern.

  3. Write down how you felt during each of those experiences and why you felt the way that you did.

  4. After you have your list, you can look for similarities and find the root cause of those experiences.

  5. The root cause is the subconscious belief.

  6. Then, you will write down the opposite of that belief. For example, if you have a subconscious belief that you aren't worthy of love, you would then write down, "I am worthy of love."

  7. List down experiences throughout your life that justify your belief that you are worthy of love.

  8. Read your new list out loud, as this will help impress the words on your subconscious.

Now that you've identified the new belief you want to hold, live your life in accordance with this new belief. Your external world will transform as soon as the new pattern takes root.

Meditation

When you meditate, you are essentially shutting off your conscious mind and allowing your subconscious mind to come to the forefront. This makes meditation a powerful tool to reprogram your mind.

  1. Get into a meditative state.

  2. Allow your body and mind to relax completely.

  3. Bring the pattern you wish to overcome into your mind.

  4. Ask your subconscious to show you the root of this pattern.

  5. You may feel a certain emotion, have a unique thought or be shown a specific memory.

  6. Identify the root cause of what's made known to you.

  7. Verbally tell your subconscious that you are clearing this pattern from your mind permanently.

  8. Then, affirm the belief you wish to replace it with.

  9. For example, if you hold the pattern that you have to work hard in order to be successful, you would replace it with the belief that success comes to you easily and effortlessly.

Your mind and beliefs are the cages that keep you from experiencing your best life yet. Learn to tap into your subconscious, clear away the old programming, and fill it with boundless.

Once you've managed to remove your self-limiting beliefs and replace them with your desired ones, your life will begin to mold itself to fit your new beliefs. Your mind and beliefs are the cages that keep you from experiencing your best life yet. Learn to tap into your subconscious, clear away the old programming, and fill it with boundless.
